My Browsers a Girl...!

AnNETne, my Web Browser, that is.

And sometimes I get kind of irritated by her.

You see, "AnNette" knows me too well. She also has a mind of her own? She takes me on journeys that never end & suck up all my time. You know what happens. You're powerless to argue, you're caught up in this kind of ride on the great wave of the Web.

I often find myself falling into a synchronous stream of Web Consciousness, and the sites are jumping out of my monitor until I'm in the flow of the collective consciousness of HER - my browser AnNette.

Sometimes I reach the saturation point - maybe jaded, I don't know….

Should I really be so tangled up in the World Wide Web?

Shouldn't the Internet Revolve Around Me? …As egotistical as that sounds, that's the mandate of:

LifeMinders

You can Create your own personal web with LifeMinders™.

This is a wonderful FREE personalize service that has my heart just a-pounding with dreams of clutter-free efficiency. LifeMinders works for you by delivering timely messages about your home, personal events, cars, finances, entertainment, pets, and family.

I wanted to know when that romantic & sexy Meet Joe Black is coming out on video. The LifeMinders e-mail reminder service let you know the date, while also providing a virtual crib sheet for all the birthdays, anniversaries, and special events in my life.

Does that last service kind of scare you? THEY tell YOU when your spouse's birthday is? Well, it's not PsychicMinders. You personalize your own LifeMinders desires and it will deliver timely messages in any or all of a host of topics. You decide which are important to you when you sign up.

So I signed up recently. It took 3 minutes - and it was fun.

I just got to browse through and check off any topics that interested me:

For instance - WealthMinder™…a category that is often present in my mind…

Let's see. I want to know about…

Checking and Savings

Maintaining Good Credit

Online Banking

Small Business

I'll skip these other choices, however…

Car Purchase

Caring for Your Aging Parents

Car Purchase

Estate Planning

High Net Worth

Real Estate

And with WealthMinder™ there are at least a dozen more categories to select from.

My fave Minder is PersonalMinder™. It helps me keep track of birthdays, anniversaries and appointments. While filling out my preferences, I reached for my trusty Franklin Planner and typed in all my appointments and events for the month. Then - this very morning - I received a LifeMinder email telling me about a birthday, a wedding and a meeting with my supervisor next week. Terrific!

LifeMinder offers even more great interest areas for each of us to personalize:

EntertainmentMinder™ sponsored by Blockbuster® and barnesandnoble.com, brings you recommendations and reminders on the videos, books, video games and music that interest you most.

GrowthMinder™ sponsored by Huggies®, lets parents know what to expect at each stage of a child's development, from infancy through adolescence. If you're willing to enter your children's ages and interests, LifeMinder will begin providing news about developmental milestones, fun activities in your area, and grade-specific guidelines to help your child succeed in school.

CarCareMinder™ sponsored by Jiffy Lube®, keeps track of every car in your driveway. I gave them the make, model and mileage of my two cars. They will notify me about driving tips, regular maintenance, and the running blue book value of my vehicle.

HomeMinder® sponsored by The Home Depot®, is my dream 'Minder. I am kind of a landscape junkie, not to mention home-project-list-maker. I can expect to receive weekly emails that will update me about home maintenance and repair, great decorating tips, and climate-specific recommendations to help care for my Puget Sound yard and garden. In fact, my first HomeMinder gave me step-by-step easy-to-follow instructions to get started constructing built-in shelves for my home. They also gave me the average last frost date for my city so I can plant those new annuals.

WealthMinder™ sponsored by FirstUSA®, has expert advice about managing taxes, assets, investment planning, mutual fund performance, and saving for retirement.

Here's where I learned about WomensConsumerNetwork.com, a new Washington-based organization. They harness the collective buying power of women to negotiate the best deals on mortgages, savings accounts, health care, groceries, and car buying services and a host of other products.

Coming Soon!

PetCareMinder™ …I can hardly wait. How else am I suppose to keep track of six cats and twelve fish?

FashionMinder™ …if you dare tell them your body type…and your taste and budget, you'll get updates on all the hottest trends in clothing, hair, and accessories.

TravelMinder™ …I want to know how to kick back in Greece on the cheap!

HealthCareMinder™ …well, now that's a little personal.

NutritionMinder™ …I say what I like to eat and cook…they email me recipes in time for the weekend.

ValueMinder™ …coupon deals straight to my desktop.

OfficeMinder™ …how I can have a better business, great deals on supplies, and easy-to-use product ordering.

WebGrrl's recommendation is to make yourself the center of the web universe and sign up for LifeMinders today. Put AnNette back in her place.
