 Interesting -
though not too surprising - fact we learned this week:
A third of spam is porn. And it's growing by 20% a year. Just checked my email
and there was a photo of a threesome. Yep, the days of email just linking to porn
are fading. 55% of all the spam is related to money - reduce debt, get rich quick,
gambling...and will Mr. Nintumbo of Nigeria ever realize I'm not going to wire him $10,000
so that he can send me $6 mil? And to round out the top three types of spam, one
word: viagra. 10% of spam is health-related.
Please enjoy this week's show. It's free of porn and we won't try to sell you a bottle of
viagra.
~ Happy Listening, Rob and Dana

"Homepage Usability
Deconstructed: Best of Breed Website Design Tips, Part 1"
by Dana Greenlee
"Ah, the web page. Your home page is your company's electronic face to the world.
It's important to make a good first impression. Most of the time, were preoccupied
with making our sites work, adding "cool" features, and assembling mounds of
content, which has left us forgetting the most important part of the web: the users."
We asked Marie Tahir,
co-author along with Jakob Nielsen of "Homepage
Usability: 50 Websites Deconstructed". This is Part 1 of 2.
